Outfit, scrubs, and a dresser drawer

I wore this outfit a while ago, I just haven't posted it yet. I don't remember what I wore it to, but most likely I was running errands. Story of my life.

I thought that I'd share a photo of my daily outfit of scrubs. I know that this looks awesome doesn't it? The long sleeve shirt underneath of my scrubs actually came from Target and was a total of $6. I wish that I would have gotten more than just this one because it is so comfortable. I'm actually wearing my work-out shoes, because I'm constantly running around. 

I cleaned out my t-shirt drawer the other day. I try to keep them somewhat coordinated. I like to wear these shirts around the house or to the gym. Do most girls have dressers, or do they keep everything hung up in their closet? I keep my pants, shorts, and sweaters in my dresser, but none of my other "nice" clothes. Do you keep any of your other clothes in a dresser, or do you even have one?

White & Black & Red all over

When I originally bought this cardigan, I only wore it buttoned up, over a brightly colored cami. (Usually canary yellow). For some reason, I just never thought about un-buttoning the sweater to turn it into a cardigan. I almost got rid of the sweater until one day I thought to myself, why not try wearing this opened up over something? That little move opened the (closet) door to so many new outfits, and I am so happy that I did not get rid of the sweater. 

Some days, I just want to wear something comfortable, so you get this outfit.

Teal and Gray

I suppose since it is officially winter, it is okay that the days have been chilly around here. One of the biggest issues I have with cold weather is trying to keep the perfect amount of layers on my body. I will plan this cute outfit, only to wear a simple jacket over it all day because I'm too cold. Other times I have to take off my sweater because I'm simply too hot, and then the outfit gets "ruined" that way. (Oh boo hoo, first world problems). 

Recently I have been forgoing the whole jacket thing, and have just been wearing thick sweater cardigans. I have been lucky where I have been able to dash to and from my car to my warm destinations, and have been able to get by with only wearing these thick sweaters. 

Back when I was in college, I would have to bundle up for the trek from my car to the building where my classes where being held. As soon as you stepped inside the building though, the heat would knock you over because it would be on full blast. Those days were never fun, and I hope that I do not have to relive them anytime soon.

The green team strikes again!

 Before I started this blog, I had very little green in my closet. (When you look in it, it still seems like there isn't very much). However, I feel like I'm always having to come up with a clever title for my green outfits. It's okay though, because I really like the color!

This shirt is another one of my finds from the clothing swap. At first I wasn't sure if the bright green color would work with my skin tone, but I find that it pairs nicely with my porcelain white skin and reddish hair. 

How about this necklace? This is the necklace that I got at Express during their black Friday 50% deal. I was struggling with the idea of paying full price for this necklace, but I was able to score the last one in the store during the sale. $40 for a necklace isn't really a bad deal, but I'm working with a (very) limited budget so $40 is a lot for me right now.

Comfy

I am all about snuggling up in comfy clothes, but you can't wear sweaters and sweatpants everywhere you go. (Well, I don't). Insert this outfit of the day. Lately I feel like I have been striving for comfort, which seems to be something that happens whenever the weather turns chilly. I haven't taken very many photos this week, but I'll try to post the outfits from prior weeks. Also, I have been volunteering at the local shelter recently, so my outfits there will never make this blog. haha. 

*Side note: If you are thinking about getting a new animal for you home, PLEASE check out your local animal shelter first! There are so many sweet animals there that would love to become your forever pet!

Renaissance Festival

So about a month ago, I said that I would post photos of my outfit from the Maryland Renaissance Festival. Well, here they are! This outfit wasn't anything special, but it was comfortable to walk around in and had a bit of a "Gothic" feel to it. Maybe one day I will actually dress up in the Renaissance attire, but I was happy with this look instead. I hope to be going again this weekend, and if I do, I'll try to take some pictures while I'm there.

Coming Together Naturally

This outfit is brought to you by my turned around hangers. When I first started this blog, I turned all of my hangers around in my closet, and was determined to wear everything. When the end of the year rolled around, if I had not found a way to wear something, or hadn't worn it because it no longer fit, then it would be time to give it up. This is also a great way to tell which pieces of clothing you wear all of the time, and which pieces need some more love. This shirt had not yet been worn since the turning of the hangers, so I figured, why not wear it today? This is also the first time that I've ever worn these pants. They are from the clearance rack at Target, and actually need to be hemmed, but I just didn't care. They are a nice dress slack material, but resemble a dark denim wash. I liked this outfit alright, but decided to throw on a belt for a little extra pizzazz. Then when it came time to add a shoe, I went right for these booties that are the same color as the belt. 

I love it when an outfit comes together in a way that I've never thought of before. I could have added more accessories, but I just wasn't feeling it. I didn't feel like messing with a necklace for the cow-neck neckline.  I did wear earrings, but I didn't take a close up picture.

Sweaters and boots

This outfit is in response of needing to wake up and go without time to shower or attempt to beautify my hair.  (Hence the high pony with hair twisted around it.) I'm so happy that today is actually turning out to be a nice day, in spite of the craziness that has occurred. (Cars breaking down, brunch plans being ruined, moving offices, not a lot of sleep, etc). 

 Now I know this sweater appears to be a dark blue or black, but it is really a dark green. I got it at Target towards the end of the summer, (? a sweater during the summer?), on the clearance rack. It is not a heavy sweater, which makes it perfect for the fall. I love sweaters, jeans, and boots for the fall. It might be a causal, easy look, but I still love it.

Fall day

So I had originally planned to wear this outfit at one of the "Taste of" Festivals over the weekend, but it was just too cold. Of course I wanted to wear tan knee high boots, but I don't own any, so these were next up. When I saw this shirt in the store, I felt like it screamed "fall". One thing that I like about Dress Barn is that I can wear clothes not only in the misses section, but also in the Petite section. 

I ended up adding my tan jacket to keep warm against the slight chill of the day.

Sick Day

This is what happens when I don't feel well. I was cold and just didn't feel well so this bummy outfit happened. I was going to wear legging with this outfit, but the sweater didn't cover my butt, so I said no. I'm not a fan of leggings worn as pants when the shirt doesn't cover the bum. Most of the time, the leggings are see-thru and the world gets to see too-much of whomever is wearing them. The jeans worked just fine in my opinion.

*These are the boots that the man bought me many Christmas's ago. We had only been dating for a few months, and he surprised me with these babies. Needless to say, I was impressed. 

Fall Festivals

This weekend has been a whirlwind of festivals, and it's been hard to choose which one to attend. Now I knew that I would be walking around a fair amount, so I wanted to make sure that I was wearing something comfortable. I'm on the look out of tall black boots because as you can see here, half-shin boots aren't what this outfit needs. However, I had to work with what I already own, so these are the boots that I wore. I can put my inserts in them so that I can have a little extra support.

Outfit change

The evening was chilly! The man and I decided to go on a walk around town before going out to dinner. I swapped out my short-sleeve sweater for my long-sleeve one so I didn't have to worry about a jacket. I ended up adding a white scarf to the look, but I didn't get a picture. I swapped out the boots for flats, as I wasn't loving the previous look. 

Yes I'm wearing my glasses here. My eyes were boycotting my contacts.

Finally fall

There was another day of driving ahead of me, so I needed something comfortable to wear again. Have I said how much I love these jeans? I got this shirt last spring from Target, and I didn't think about it's potential for the fall. I suppose that was before I thought about pairing tanks with sweaters. Lately the weather had been turning into fall around here...and I like it! I traded a long sleeve black sweater for this short sleeve one later on in the evening. This is the first year that I have actually been excited for fall. The apartment has been decorated and the summer clothes are (mostly) put away. I've even started making pumpkin flavored foods and goodies! I suppose the next step is to start wearing boots....I just need to find a pair that I can settle on! Maybe I need to send the man on this task since he did so well last time! haha

Chambray!

I love everything about this outfit. I like the way that it looks as well as how comfortable it is. Excuse the messy background. I was visiting with my parents, and let's just say that I don't make my bed when I'm there. I always make my bed except when I'm at my parent's house. I suppose it's my inner child rebelling.  Once when my mom came to visit me in college, she was shocked to see that my bed was made. She was even more surprised to learn that I made it daily. Now it's the first thing that I do when I get up.

*A little side note about this shirt: each shirt that I tried on was a different size. I went to two different Targets, three different times before I could find one that fit. I'd try on a medium and it would be way to small. Then I'd try on a large and it would be even smaller than the medium. Then I tried on an XL (gasp!) and I could wrap it around me three times. Then I'd try on a different large and it would swallow me as well. This continued until I went back for a third time and finally found a medium that fit me well. I was about to give up all hope for this shirt until I tried one last time. I was confused as to why the labels were so off. Have you ever had this problem before? 

Re-peat? I'll try not to!

I had to go out of town, so I wanted to be comfortable while still presentable. Of course driving in my sweatpants would be the most comfortable, but I always have this fear that I'll be stranded on the side of the road because my car broke down, and no one will take me seriously because of how I am dressed. I know that this thought is silly, but I do drive an old car....

** Also, I packed already worn (and previewed) outfits for my trip. I just grabbed items that I knew would work, but hopefully I can pick up a new item over the weekend to showcase. :) I feel like I'm in a rut with my clothes right now, because I want to start wearing my fall clothes, but it just isn't cold enough. However, I've already packed away a far amount of my summer stuff because it isn't quite warm enough for those items. I'm sure that soon enough, I will be begging for spring to get here as I don't tolerate the cold very well. ha.

Oops

So I had to attend another seminar, but since I was "attending" rather than presenting, I chose to tone down the outfit a bit. (I feel like this is a trend for me! haha). I suppose that I could have worn my black slacks rather than my black jeans, but I really wasn't thinking about it until I was half-way to the seminar. Oops. 

I feel like I tend to either over-dress or under-dress for functions. I need to work on this!

I finally tried out the gel nails! I've had these babies for a week now, and they have really stood up to some tough work! So they aren't as cheap as a regular manicure, but I only have two minor chips after cleaning the entire apartment. Not too shabby.

I always feel like a black shirt and colored jeans go well together. When I saw this top hanging in my "black" section of my closet, I realized that I hadn't worn it in a while. Well that was reason enough for me to wear it! Excuse the flip-flops though. It was a warm day and I was able to go casual.

Weekend Getaway

I know that it is has been a while since my last update. Between seminars that the man was hosting, and the weekend getaway, I just haven't had any time to update here. My outfits over the weekend primarily consisted of workout clothing because we were always on the go. I did not both with pictures for obvious reasons.

The house that we stayed at was amazing. Not only was it huge, but it had everything you could think of. The owner also lived next door, and had so many recommendations of things to do in the area. It was a great mini vacation that needed to last longer!
