Raining on my head

So the other day we had a tornado watch for a majority of the day. Needless to say, it was raining for most of the day. This meant that I got to pull out my rain boots! Now I know that the boots have pink stripes and my shirt has red stripes, but I just didn't care. I did however receive a lot of compliments on my boots, as everyone else's feet were getting wet. So far I'm very happy that I invested in some rain-boots.

When the warning finally subsided and the rain ceased, I switched to my black flats.

Can you tell that I love this little sweater? I feel like it has made an appearance in half of my posts. I suppose that I need to go out and get something similar to it so I don't wear it out.

Labor Day Fun

This weekend has been a busy one. I was about to hang out with some of my family, and my mom and I were able to sneak in a bit of shopping. (yay!) I'm sure I'll be show casing the items shortly, and I am actually wearing my new black skinny jeans from Target in this post.  On Saturday I wore an outfit that was very similar to the Minty Fresh post, so I didn't take any pictures. The shirt that I wore was a simple black T-shirt and I wore a gold necklace instead of the mint one, but still, it was very similar.

(very blurry, I know)

Dress: Francesca's Collection (Spring 2012)
Belt: Francesca's Collection (Summer 2012)
Flats: Target (August 2012)
[I thought that they were comfortable at first, but the more that I wore them, the more uncomfortable they became.]

My family went to the Nationals baseball game on Sunday, but they were calling for rain during the whole game. We weren't sure if our seats were under the overhang or not, so I wore my rain boots just in case. Luckily the seats were covered, and the walk to and from the metro wasn't very far so I didn't really need them, but I wanted to just be safe.

Minty Fresh

Today was a shopping overload day...but not for clothes for myself. It revolved around grocery shopping for the sales, as well as back to school shopping (for the middle-schooler that I was "watching". I feel like it's not babysitting when they are this old).

Anywho..I wanted to be comfy, but the forecast was calling for rain later in the day, so I wanted to make sure that whatever I was wearing would be okay if it got wet. (i.e. no white) Excuse the flip-flops, I have a blister on my pinky toe!

Wrap Shirt: Express (old)
Capri: Khols- Spring 2012 (I believe they still have them in the store):: Also, I had these tailored into capris, they were skinny jeans)
Flip-flops: Charlotte Russe (old)
Necklace: Francesca's Collections- Spring 2012 (I believe they still have this one on-line, and other colors in stores)
Bracelet: Express (Winter 2011)

RAIN BOOTS!!

I just got my new rain-boots in the mail! They are from Target (only on-line), and I love them! These are a size 7, and I can wear thick socks and my jeans with them just fine. I went to my local Target and tried on a few pairs there to see what size I should order. I'm very glad I did or I would have ordered an 8, which would have been too big. I really love the Burberry rain-boots, but I can't justify $235 boots for the rain. Instead I found these babies for $25. Maybe I'll get to wear them a little later on. :)
