Color-blocked

So a week ago I got dressed to go to work, and felt really good about my outfit choices. Then I went to start my car and it was not running like it is suppose to. Now my commute to work is not a short one, so luckily the man came to my rescue and drove me to work (and picked me up), but it was not the day that I had imagined as I got dressed that morning.

As I was rummaging through my closet that morning, I was drawn to my color-block blue/green shirt. I honestly wasn't sure which of my pants were clean though, so I had to go through my pants in my dresser, and I pulled these babies out from the bottom of the stack. Now I love these pants, as they are extremely comfortable. I also love that these pants were on the sale rack for a cool $8.00 at Target last fall.

I'm going to try harder to remember that they exist. Really, I will.

Blue, Gray, and Orange...

This outfit was based on the fact that I had worn my tan pants from Old Navy 100,939 times in February. Okay, that might be a slight exaggeration. That would be a lot of clothing changes each day.

I decided that I needed to wear a different pair of pants. And that's the story about why I'm wearing these pants.

Hope you enjoyed it.

Clothing Swap Round Two!

I was able to attend another clothing swap this past weekend! This is the second swap that I have attended, and I am loving them. I did a post about my first clothing swap HERE. I ended up taking back a shirt and a skirt that I picked up from the previous swap because they didn't work in my wardrobe, but that is the beauty of clothing swaps. You can try out a new item of clothing that you might be hesitant to buy in a store. If you don't like the item, you can just take it back to the next swap!

Here is a shot of everything that I got to take home
I got a plaid jacket, a red fedora, a pink necklace, purple and white maxi dress, coral brown and white maxi dress, a peach and teal dress, a pink and brown scarf, a purple dress, a black and white striped tank, green capri pants, a green tank, a snake print belt, a gold a silver thick belt, a lavender cardigan, a wallet, and a polka dot cardigan (Simply Vera Wang).

Not pictured here is a pink and white dress, and a brown sweater cardigan for my mom. She had donated some clothing for the swap as well, so I felt like it was only fair for her to get something in return.

Here is the outfit that I wore to the clothing swap. Wearing leggings and a cami is a MUST when going to a swap. I usually just take off my belt and sweater dress when I'm trying on the clothes, and I keep them in my bag of clothes. (I don't want anyone walking off with the clothes that I'm wearing that day!) And to make sure that I don't accidentally  put my sweater dress or belt into the pile of clothes for the swap, I always make sure that I put them back on before I start returning clothes that I have picked up.

Outfit, scrubs, and a dresser drawer

I wore this outfit a while ago, I just haven't posted it yet. I don't remember what I wore it to, but most likely I was running errands. Story of my life.

Sweater: Target
Pants: Old Navy
Boots: Candies by Khol's

I thought that I'd share a photo of my daily outfit of scrubs. I know that this looks awesome doesn't it? The long sleeve shirt underneath of my scrubs actually came from Target and was a total of $6. I wish that I would have gotten more than just this one because it is so comfortable. I'm actually wearing my work-out shoes, because I'm constantly running around.

I cleaned out my t-shirt drawer the other day. I try to keep them somewhat coordinated. I like to wear these shirts around the house or to the gym. Do most girls have dressers, or do they keep everything hung up in their closet? I keep my pants, shorts, and sweaters in my dresser, but none of my other "nice" clothes. Do you keep any of your other clothes in a dresser, or do you even have one?

Royal Blue and Snakeprint

I might be obsessed with blue tops and light bottoms. Or more specifically these bottoms. And this color blue. I wish I would have returned this sweater though and gotten a size smaller. It is the same sweater as I wore in this post. Actually, it is the same outfit, but with a different colored sweater. lol. Part of me likes the slouchy sweater look, and the other part of me likes the tighter sweater. All of my likes this royal blue color.

I hope you do too.

Month of January. Outfit of Fall.

So I feel like this outfit would have been a bit more appropriate during the fall months, but I didn't own these orange pants then. I'll admit that I completely forget about this sweater until the other day. I currently have most of my sweaters in an unorganized pile on a shelf in my closet. After I wear a sweater and wash it, I just kind of throw it back up in the pile and hope that the pile doesn't come tumbling down. At the start of fall, I had this nice, neat pile of sweaters and you could see all of the sweaters.

I really need to just rearrange the shelf so that the pile isn't so high. Or clean out a dresser drawer so that I can put my sweaters in there. (I don't hang my sweaters, as that takes the shape out if them).

So please enjoy my fall outfit that I wore in January.

Big Ol' Sweater

Some days, I try my best to NOT wear a jacket...no matter how cold it is outside. No, I'm not trying to make myself sick, I just get tired of my outfits getting covered up by my jacket. (Usually I'm chilly and don't want to take my jacket off.)

Insert this sweater/cardigan thing. It is so thick and warm, that you absolutely do NOT want to wear a jacket with it. Its perfect for those days that I'm either running around outside a lot, or I know that I'll be in a place where it stays chilly.

Enjoy

Orange and Snake Print

Some days I have an idea floating around my head of what I want to wear. Some of these days, the outfit looks as good on me as it did in my head, other days, not so much. I was never 100% okay with this outfit, but I did not dislike it enough to take it off until the family Christmas get-together that evening. I actually kept the outfit the same except that I changed out of the snake-print tank into a navy sequined tank. Of course I did not get pictures of the second outfit, so you will just have to use your imagination.

I still have a few outfits leftover from 2012 that need to be posted, however I did get a lot of new clothes for Christmas....

My new black diamond earrings that then man gave me for Christmas. This is definitely not the best photo ever taken, but you can get an idea of what they look like.

I got the vest that I really wanted for Christmas. As soon as I unwrapped it, I put it on and wore it for the rest of the day. This was the only photo that I took last week of my clothes, so I thought that I'd share it.

*I do realized that there is a lot of green in this picture...

Summer dress during the Winter

During the summertime, I love throwing on a fun little dress and wearing it around town. Since the man and I live above restaurants, we like to go out a few times a week whether it's for drinks, a meal, or dessert. I have a firm belief that you should always try be overdressed rather than under-dressed, so I usually lean towards my dresses when I'm deciding on what to wear. I swear that I always get at least one compliment on my outfit, simply because of my dress.

Obviously I'm not going to be running around town with bear legs this time of year, so I've been having to winterize my outfits. I tend to not wear dresses as much as I do in the summer, but I still like having the option to wear a dress.

For this outfit I simply added a pair of leggings and my colored boots for a winterized dressy outfit. I've also worn this dress with maroon leggings and gray boots, as well as brown legging with these burgundy boots for a slightly different look.

Simple

I don't know about you, but I love wearing blue during the holiday season. I know that red and green are your standard Christmas colors, but I feel like the color blue fits into the holiday category as well. I think of a winter wonder land full of snow and icicles, and therefore blue fits in perfectly with the winter theme.

I don't feel like there is really anything special about this outfit, but it was comfortable and I like the brightness of the teal blue sweater shirt that I wore.

Pinspired Outfit

This outfit was completely inspired by Bree over at Dream in Fashion. When I saw her outfit, I knew that I had to immediately recreate it (on the same day). Since I do no own cognac boots, I decided to go with a pop of color instead of reaching for my dark brown boots. I liked how she paired this outfit with a short necklace, and decided that my new gold collar necklace from Express would be perfect for this outfit.

I will be honest, layering clothes is something that I am still relatively new at doing. I am always looking for "new" ways to style my clothes, and this is just one reason why I love Pintrest. Currently, I do not own very many sweaters so I feel limited in my options, but I will not let this stop me in my quest for cute outfits. When I was in Target the other day, I noticed that they had a bunch of chunky cable knit sweaters in stock.  ( Too bad I'm on a budget right now, lol).

I'm excited for this weekend as the man's work Christmas party is on Saturday night. I have always had a great time at this party, and I'm hoping that this year is no exception. This year I wasn't going to dress up as fancy as I normally do, but then a few of his female co-workers asked me what I would wearing this year. I had no idea anyone really looked at my outfits at these parties, much less remembered what I was wearing.  Once I heard this, I knew that I couldn't let them down. I went over to JcPennys to see if they had anything that would work as a fun holiday outfit. Stay tuned as I will reveal my outfit sometime next week!

Have a great weekend.

Blue

Blue shirts and blue jeans, and I don't think that it's too much. I haven't ventured out into the denim on denim look, but blue on blue....I'll take it. The man wore a similar shirt to me but with black pants....so it was a good thing that I chose jeans instead of black pants. (Some how we weren't paying attention to each other's wardrobe that morning?)

One thing that I love about Express clothing is the quality of the clothing. I rarely have a poorly crafted article of clothing from this store. Some may not like the store's style, and call it the "cheap version of insert your favorite store". I believe that this statement is far from the truth, and  I do not find it cheap, rather quality of the clothes are pretty darn good. The man even likes the dress shirts from Express. (He does not care about clothes, as long as he looks good. haha). Also, if you are looking for "office appropriate wardrobe", I highly suggest taking a look at Express. (Or you if you are looking for a fun outfit go in and have a look).

Shirt: Express, this one is old, but here is its cousin
Jeans:  Express, (I love Express jeans, if you have never tried them, then go to the store and try them out!)

Express has these blue suede booties right now that I think are absolutely adorable.
