Minty Leopard

Okay I'll admit it, this outfit idea was taken from a blog that I like to follow, Mix and Match Fashion. However these pants are really capri pants and the weather was not warm enough for my ankles to show. I would have paired them with my pink toed flats that I wore in the outfit post from yesterday (if it weren't so dang cold!).

So expect to see this outfit again (except with different shoes). I'm thinking that it will look like a whole new outfit!

I also had my post titled, but when I looked at the blog page of the outfit that I recreated, I noticed that we had similar title posts. Oops.

I'm sorry, that is all of the text that you get from me today. But I hope that you aren't really looking at this blog for the text. ;)

Spring into Polka Dots

I think the title of this post makes sense when you see the outfit that I wore...lol.

So I have had this particular outfit tucked away in my mind for some time now, but I've felt like the colors were to bright and cheerful to wear during the cold winter months. I decided to wear this combo for Easter, as I kind of felt like an Easter Egg. I had planned on wearing a new cute spring dress that I recently bought, but the weather just wasn't cooperating with me. (Ok so the picture of the dress online doesn't do it justice. It's actually really cute and not so "old" looking in person).

Okay so back to this outfit. Now these shoes are not actually coral like the shirt, they are more pink. However I like to pretend that from afar the two colors look similar and everyone thinks I'm cool for matching my shoes to my shirt. And my necklace.

Shirt: J. Crew Factory
Jeans: Target
Shoes: Old Navy
Necklace: Dress Barn (new item)
Earrings (not shown): My chocolate diamond earrings

Dress Barn has a few knock-off jewelry pieces right now. The necklaces and bracelets resemble those by Stella and Dot, and J.Crew.....at a much lower price.

Can we just take a quick peak at this necklace for sale at J. Crew right now? I'm obviously searching for it's cheaper twin right now.

Colorful leopard with a Spring Line of Excitement

Remember how I said that I get to dress up at least once a week (at my work) now? Well here is my outfit from Monday, the day that I don't have to wear scrubs. This outfit was actually inspired by J's Everyday Fashion. Now I know that my necklace isn't a bubble necklace, nor does it match my jeans exactly, but it works. I really like her colored jeans that also match her necklace, with the addition of the leopard cardigan. I decided to throw in a little lace with my neutral shirt under the leopard cardigan. I also wore boots because my ankles can't handle the cold just yet.

AND...let's talk about Dress Barn's new line out right now. Now I know that I've said this before, but I absolutely hate the name of this place. I mean, who really wants to by clothes from a barn? However, I can usually find some really cute clothes from this store, and their spring line is no exception. Coral and mint/teal are the stand out colors of this spring for them, and I am loving it. I'm also loving how it mirrors many popular brands out there right now that are not cheap. It's got you covered with the jewelry  (Stella & Dot bangles and necklaces) as well as lots of lace clothing,(lace dress from Francesca's Collections), and symmetrical floral clothing (Prabal Gurung for Target). (The color scheme closely resembles that of J.Crew and Express too). Now go take advantage of this spring line.

Leopard, black, and purple

I'm not going to lie, wearing scrubs to work everyday makes me cry a little bit every morning when I get dressed. Okay, maybe that is a lie. I don't cry *every* morning. Come to think of it, almost every job that I've ever held had either some sort of dress code (as is uniform) or required scrubs or jeans (because you don't dress up when you work on a farm).

The only time that I got to play dress up for work was when I was a P.A. for a loan officer while I was looking for an actual job. Darn.

Well, at least I will be interacting more with patients soon, so wearing scrubs won't be so bad. (Let's face it, I don't want to bring blood and what not home on my nice pretty clothes.)

I have a feeling that life will stay busy, giving me reason to dress in fun clothes....as long as I have time to go home and change first.

This is one of my many house hunting outfits. I probably haven't called the others"house hunting" clothes, but that's not really important.

I was going to originally going to wear the leopard shirt with black pants, but I wanted to try to stick to the "rule-of-three". Since I do not own any bright cardigans, I decided to keep the cardigan black and the pants brights. Yup.

I decided to go sans necklace and bracelets with this outfit. The shirt actually ties at the top, and I felt like a necklace made it too busy. I was also in a fuss-free mood and didn't feel like dealing with a lot of accessories. Yeah,  life is just so rough.

White & Black & Red all over

When I originally bought this cardigan, I only wore it buttoned up, over a brightly colored cami. (Usually canary yellow). For some reason, I just never thought about un-buttoning the sweater to turn it into a cardigan. I almost got rid of the sweater until one day I thought to myself, why not try wearing this opened up over something? That little move opened the (closet) door to so many new outfits, and I am so happy that I did not get rid of the sweater.

Some days, I just want to wear something comfortable, so you get this outfit.

Month of January. Outfit of Fall.

So I feel like this outfit would have been a bit more appropriate during the fall months, but I didn't own these orange pants then. I'll admit that I completely forget about this sweater until the other day. I currently have most of my sweaters in an unorganized pile on a shelf in my closet. After I wear a sweater and wash it, I just kind of throw it back up in the pile and hope that the pile doesn't come tumbling down. At the start of fall, I had this nice, neat pile of sweaters and you could see all of the sweaters.

I really need to just rearrange the shelf so that the pile isn't so high. Or clean out a dresser drawer so that I can put my sweaters in there. (I don't hang my sweaters, as that takes the shape out if them).

So please enjoy my fall outfit that I wore in January.

Leopard and Wine

This leopard cardigan is another item that I got at the clothing swap that I attended. I have worn it this way a few times, and I have also worn it with my black jeans and a colored shirt under it. I really like how versatile this cardigan can be, and of course, I love the leopard. The outfit that I am wearing in these photos is actually what I wore on Thanksgiving, I just never took any pictures of it.

I have some great news.....I am starting a new job soon! (yay!) However, I will be wearing scrubs to work, so I have a feeling that I won't be posting my outfits as often on this blog. I will be able to wear nail polish, so maybe I'll start trying to do fun things with my nails to make up for my lack of outfit creativity. I am very excited to start my new job, but I am sad that I won't be wearing fun clothes as much anymore. Because I'll be honest, after a day of work, I usually like to come home and put sweat pants on. Lol.

Color Color Everywhere!

This outfit was completely inspired by Kendi Everday. Her mix of cobalt blue and purple really stood out to me as a fun winter combo. I know that these colors aren't what you would typically wear during the fall/winter days, but I just couldn't help myself. I feel like I pranced around all day because I was so in love with my outfit.

Is there a color that you just can't stop wearing even though that it isn't "seasonal"?

Winey Pants

Our building had a wine and cheese pairing last night. It was put on by our local grocery store that specializes in organic and local foods. The pairings were spot on, and I wanted to eat all of the yummy cheeses that were offered. I mean all as in the entire quantity that was brought because they were so tasty. It was a lot of fun meeting people that live in our building, and we met a lot of people that were our age! (YAY!)

On another note....I am sick today. I am not sick from last night though! I promise!  I woke up this morning feeling like a ton of bricks. It feels kind of like the flu, but I'm hoping that it's a 24 hour thing. I hope to be back up and running as normal tomorrow. (I'd rather be normal tonight as the town center is having a special holiday tree lighting that I was looking forward to attending.) Ugh. I'm going back to bed now.

Mint and Stripes

I absolutely love my mint pants. I loved wearing them this past spring and summer, and am happy to continue wearing them throughout the fall. Now this particular pair of pants were once skinny jeans, but I turned them into capris. I love how neutrals look with mint, so I was excited to wear this combo out and about this past weekend. I cannot wait to try out other combos with mint this fall. I will have to work on my boots though, as these are slouchy boots and kept coming down to wear my capris ended. Maybe I'll invest in a pair of tall socks so it won't look so awkward.

I'll be going back and forth between multiple states for the next couple of days, so I'm not sure how much I'll be able to post. I hope everyone has a Happy Thanksgiving!

Sweater Days

I am in love with this sweater. I picked it up a few weeks ago, and I've already worn it twice. I love the texture, as well as the fit. It keeps me warm enough that I don't need a jacket while I'm running around town.     (I am wearing a jacket in the bottom picture, but I quickly found out that it was not necessary that day.) I plan on trying out my gray boots with this outfit for a different look.

I will be going out of town from Thursday-Sunday, so I doubt that I'll get any posts up on those days. More than likely, I'll just re-wear outfits that I've worn recently anyway. Hope you are having a great week!

Black, White, and Maroon

I always feel like a black shirt and colored jeans go well together. When I saw this top hanging in my "black" section of my closet, I realized that I hadn't worn it in a while. Well that was reason enough for me to wear it! Excuse the flip-flops though. It was a warm day and I was able to go casual.

What to wear?

Do you ever have a day when your problem isn't that you don't have anything to wear, but rather you have plenty to wear, but nothing feels "right"? I tried on several outfits that I had put together in my head the day before, but I just didn't "feel" like wearing them. I liked how the outfits looked, but I just didn't want to wear them. I shuffled image after image into my memory bank for another day, and finally decided on this outfit. It isn't anything flashy or special, but it just felt "right" so I decided that it was a keeper.

Weekend Getaway

I know that it is has been a while since my last update. Between seminars that the man was hosting, and the weekend getaway, I just haven't had any time to update here. My outfits over the weekend primarily consisted of workout clothing because we were always on the go. I did not both with pictures for obvious reasons.

OOTD: Sunday
Black Sweater: Charlotte Russe  (old)
Shirt: Old Navy (clearance, Sept 2012)
Jeans: Target (Sept 2012)
Belt: Target (spring 2012)
Shoes: Payless

The house that we stayed at was amazing. Not only was it huge, but it had everything you could think of. The owner also lived next door, and had so many recommendations of things to do in the area. It was a great mini vacation that needed to last longer!

OOTD: Friday

Black Sweater: Charlotte Russe (old)
Shirt: Express (old)
Jeans: Target (August 2012)
Shoes: Payless
Necklace: Charming Charlie (August 2012)

I ended up only taking this necklace and a pair of earrings for jewelry because who really wears accessories for horseback riding and zip-lining?

I will try my best to post throughout the week, but this week is going to be insanely busy. I will be going out of town again soon, so hopefully I will be able to post!
